Conan is God

I didn't know how much I missed Conan until he did the string-on-the-hips-dance.

I'm going to Michigan tomorrow for work.  My librarian friends roll deep.

It's mid sixties in November.

My cat is in heat.  I need to get her stuff fixed.

OH and I bought a kitty condo,

OH and I went to Wisconsin Dells for Lyndsay's baby shower.  Marley's was poppin, so poppin, that my boyfriend got his ass grabbed by a goofy faced tub-tub within 30 seconds of walking in the door.  I, of course was calm and collected about it.  Lyndsay (5 months pregnant) spider monkey'd the bitch. LOL.  Jk.  Kinda.

I was super popular with my fuck em bucky shirt (badgers won earlier in the night)
Shoutout to Jalicious Kate for the classy shirt

Here's the gang, minus one pansy that was too tired after drinking all day (usually me in that scenario)

Ta ta for now........ bishes.

If I could blog from the shower...

Where do I start.  I just got out of the shower and I always have a million things running through my head in there.  Well, I'll start off with what's been going on for the past two weeks.  It all started when someone died on Sept 1st who happened to be my best friend.  Dogs don't criticize, yell, cheat, steal (except for food), lie, judge, or make you cry.  My Gabby was sick for only a few days and as I sat with her for the last hour of her life I just hoped she knew how much my whole family loved her...

She was the sweetest girl and was truly a part of my family. If you're ever looking for a good, smart, sweet type of dog, Australian shepherds are the way to go!

Sorry to be such a downer!  Let's move on to fun happy thoughts...  Tomorrow I will be attending my coworker and close friend Lyndsay and Jon's ultrasound!  They'll be finding out what type of bun is in the oven?  French baugette?  Wheat?  Roll?  Chips?  Apple?  (Ok last two were a Panera joke) panda?  Lyndsay has been wishin' and hopin' for a girl, but has a feeling it's a boy.  I have a feeling its a boy, and it will have a five o'clock shadow if he resembles his dad too much! She's due in February and I cannot wait!  I kind of feel pregnant myself since I see her everyday.  The first month or two I would eat everything she couldn't because she was a sick girl.... And now that she IS hungry.. well read on:

Funny story, cuz I always laugh with Lyndsay - I was driving her to Burger King today at lunch (ahem, I ate there too ok?) and while sitting at a red light a semi trailer transporting cows drove past and a cow MOOED at me right as it was passing my open window... Talk about buzz kill. Lyndsay is probably at home still laughing at this very moment.

So back to the past two weeks:  I have NOT worked out since September first!  The whole Gabby thing set it off of course, but I just haven't been able to 'press play' as Tony Horton says.  I switched over to doing "Insanity" workout vs P90X and saw faster results, so tonight I finally got my ars off the couch and bounced around for a while.  Shits hard.  But I feel good and less nauseous as usual...  My cats taunt me still by the way.  Walk past me, dangle from the tv, walk through my legs, lives in danger, lay down and roll around inches from my shoes.  They think they're funny.

So that's been my past two weeks.  I've also slowly removed my hands from the boyf's neck (not literally), and am hoping I'm easier to get along with :/ Stress can effect so many parts of life.  But he's cute so I need  him around:

As of tomorrow I will be eating healthier.  One, because I get paid tomorrow and can go grocery shopping, and two, because I actually enjoy drinking these:

  • Banana
  • Milk
  • Frozen strawberries, raspberries, blueberries
  • Flax seeds
  • Ice cubes
I'm not kidding you, it is so good.   Don't knock it til you try it...
Even boyface liked it.

Scatterbrained last thoughts:

I've been thinking a lot lately about the idea of keeping up with my blog. I go back and forth because part of me sees it as documenting your life for strangers (and a few friends..) to stumble across, or check in on if they're bored lol.  I'm also not the most interesting writer, and I don't have nearly enough time to make it look pretty or add all the pictures I want. I almost wanted to delete my blog because I'd rather spend my life living it, not documenting it, and honestly there are 1,500 other things I should probably be doing. But then I remembered something I came across while going organizing one of my kitchen drawers last week.  It was a personal daily planner from 2009.  I hesitated to throw it away like all the other times I've tossed one of those books with scribbles, appointments, un-done tasks, and the occasional "florida trip!" or "no work today! Getting a tan!".  I get this sentimental feeling, and while Allan will say it's a hoarder tendency (love that show), I like coming across something or some time I forgot.  So maybe, when I'm 80 and computer screens are engraved into the backs of our eyelids I can browse through these days and smile, cry, remember, laugh, cringe, whatever.  I have a really bad memory, so that's my excuse for now :)

Ok this is funny, and ironic, because I am getting another computer screen in my CUBE FARM (sore subject) because I need two emails since I'm taking on customer service for another part of our company.  I was like, ever heard of another window?  Pretty sure you can have two emails on one computer but hey, job security for someone...  haha!

I'll leave you with this, because I'm fancy:

mmm girrrrl.

Itty Bitty Piggy

Can we focus on how amazing this upcoming weekend is going to be?  Checking out a new bar dt called TC Cat on Thursday, then out on a friends boat Saturday then drinks downtown for my girl's Bachelorette party.
I  need my peacock braclet to come back into style :/  This is me in madison, on pepin place, where I grew up.  Well if you wanna think i've grown up.  I haven't really.
In sad P90x news, this is the start of my 4th week, and sadly I am re-doing my 3rd week.  Last week was just too busy to workout every night but I'm FOCUSED on completing this, no matter how long it takes!  So I did Kenpo X monday, and Core synergistics last night.  Gotta look good for the boat this weekend :)
October is quickly approaching, and unlike every other year, I'm not going to scramble last minute to create a fabulous costume. I'm gonna be... NICKI MINAJ. I'm pretty much her.  Not. I'm pretty good at her down-syndrome sounding raps though:
Isn't this wig PERFECT?  Its for a cleopatra costume.. So that'll be my back up costume lol:
Now all i need is a sexy outfit....
Until next time

Buyers Market

I am a selling MACHINE.  I just sold my 'old' iPhone 3GS yesterday, after picking up my new iPhone 4!  It takes great pictures and I'm a papparazzi so I had to have it.  I also have a few dresses I might post here juuust in case my luck goes on a roll.

I'm currently downloading the iMovie app for it too - so I can edit videos on the go.  Expect picture/video overload.  Sorry/you're welcome.

I also just figured out how to quickly transfer my iPhone pics to my computer versus emailing them.  So here's a few randoms from the last couple months:

I came home one night to find this in my parking garage:
Car parked more than halfway out of their stall?

Annnnd a note??

So I gather that this guy blames the condo management for HIM running into a concrete wall with his car because ONE light was out in this huge parking garage???  OMFGLOL

Might have to submit the above pictures to

Some friends and I went to an outlet mall in Kenosha a few weeks ago, where they had a BCBG outlet!  I tried on 5-6 dresses, leaving with one plain black 'classic' dress.  Too often I find myself buying loud colorfull dresses and only wanting to wear them once.  Stay tuned to see the black dress, I'll be wearing it to a wedding on Sept 5th!  Somebody PLEASE tell me why I didn't purchase this green number???

EH.   Look at my SHORT legs!  Sad face.

This is Sasha's prime spot in the morning while I'm getting ready for work:

This is my God daughter Savi (Savannah)  She's hilarious, sweet, cute and a bullet in soccer.

PLEASE ignore the mess in this next picture.  Just focus on the whale flopping around center stage:
THIS IS ME!  Doing P90x last night, flavor of the day was Core synergistics and here I was doing "Superman, Banana".  Its apparently for abs, but I just feel like I'm a rolling pin flattening my yoga mat. Barf.

Speaking of mess:  I'm blogging from a new spot in the condo: The kitchen table.  Tip of the day, move your laptop from the couch to somewhere you can be productive.  Tonight I'm going to tackle a pile of papers and mail stacked almost as high as my WALL MOUNTED TV..  I suck at going through mail and do it maybe once a month.  The bf suggests I go 'paperless' by getting everything emailed to me but I sense a disaster if I do that.  I probably will though..

Then it's Cardio X for my workout.  Wish me luck!!

Easy Button

I sold the Zara wedges!  Jasmine over at Vintage Vandalizm bought them, she's such a babe.  I was shocked to see that she commented on my blog. She added me to her blogroll, so I gotta amp up my postings now!  I'll have to go through her list and find some new blood to stalk....haha.

I had a busy 3 day weekend to say the least.  Took Friday off of work to head up to Wisconsin Dells with my bf, I bought him zipline tickets for his birthday in July and we decided to make a whole day out of it.

GI Joe Allan
my picture sucks!
It was so gorgeous out, mid 70's so not too hot.  By the third zip line I really got the hang of it and was flipping upside down.
loved the harness
My stallion

I paid $35 freeking dollars for the professional pics they took (first two, above) ripoff!

Here's some of the footage from our day:

That night we went to a Madison Mallards baseball game with my friend Lyndsay and her husband Jon.  Since Lyndsay is on the 9 month no drinking plan, she focused heavily on making sure I got GOOD and drunk :S

Lyndz and I acting a fool

Saturday night I went to Allans Madison Mustangs football game with a group of friends, then out for some drinks with my friend Emily

Here's Allan, #33, on the ticket :) And my blue manicured thumbnail

Emily and I at a bar called Logans downtown Madison, drink choice of the night: Bubblegum 3 Olives with Sugar Free Redbull.  Yes.

Random picture o' the day, this pic was taken in my kitchen/dining room.  The wall mural is something that my Mom helped me pick out when I first bought my condo:

The 'modely' photo shoot was for Merl's Etsy shop where she sells handmade jewelry.

I recently stumbled across this video, and even if you're not into watching makeup tutorial videos, I think you should take a look, the editing is A-MAZING (reason 200 to get a MAC):

All of that brings us to here, me blogging on Sunday afternoon, and I have to confess:  I skipped my Friday and Saturday P90x workouts!  Yikes.  And currently, I have a bajillion things to clean around my condo, including a pile of clean clothes that need to be put away.  Allan brought over his chin up bar  I HAVE to do my P90x and I'm gonna do both workouts I missed: Legs and Back, Ab ripper, and Kenpo X.  Sorry messy condo: you'll be slaughtered tomorrow.

Thanks for reading :)

So this day turned out to be GREAT.  Why?  I GOT A RAISE AT WORK!!!  I work for a company that sells commercial furniture, security products among other random things... and have been there for about 4 years.   We recently bought another company out so I'll be adding more to my workload.  Just recently I added 'hand model' to my line of work, for our most recent brochure.&nbsYou'd be floored at all the theft that happens at libraries. We sell direct to Public Libraries and college libraries :)  So if you're planning on stealing a DVD from a library, don't even THINK about it!

I get to travel 4-6 times a year, to attend LIBRARY TRADE SHOWS.  Now, I know what you're thinking, how CAN she party so hard?  These librarians are out-of-con-trol I'm telling you.  Basically, there's one thing you need to know about most librarians: They're looking for free stuff, and free stuff only.  Once you start introducing your product they're outta there.  Sometimes they'll even pick up props from our booth and say "is this free?".  Overall, I look forward to these trips.  I've been to a ton of great cities since working here.  I love going to California shows the most.  Only major city I haven't been yet:  New York City.  It's my dream to go there.  I plan shopping excursions every time I travel for work too. Got this dress from Zara (we dont have Zara's in the midwest!) last month when I was in Washington DC:

On a sad note, I was excited to find some boot wedges at Zara that I had been eyeing on Ebay.  I bought them a size too big :X  They say size 39 on the bottom.  I'm a 7 so I'm guessing 39 is an 8? If anyone is interested, comment and I'd be happy to sell them.  Bought them for $70 and they've never been worn!

My shows for the rest of the year include: Wisconsin, down the road at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells.  Michigan, Acme (Traverse City).  Ohio, Columbus. And Illinois at Navy Pier!  Pumped for shopping on Michigan Ave!!

In blog news, my friend Merl asked me to guest blog for her while she's away on vay-cay...
Head over to Clyde's Rebirth and check out my guest blog.

In P90X news, I did CORE yesterday and it wasn't that bad.  I'm exhausted but I HAVE to find the energy to do Cardio X tonight.

Makeup news: I want to try this eyeliner look out.  Saw it on Vintage Vandalism's blog

I have friday off and am going on a zip-line tour in the Dells with my bf.  Read today on the news that a 12 year old girl from Florida was in the Dells this past weekend and FELL 100 feet from a free fall attraction (looks kinda like bungee jump) and the net wasn't out, so she hit concrete.  She survived but is probably going to be paralyzed.  Tragic.  Here's the story.

Hopefully I'll have happy pictures from my Dells experience to share... :)

Sanitize and EXIT.

My CALF muscles are TWITCHING

So it's MONDAY.  And usually i hate mondays, as do you, but today is my day OFF aka REST DAY for P90x.  I started the schedule on a Tuesday, so instead of the regular scheduled sunday rest day, mine is monday.  HENNYWAYS:  Friday i skipped Yoga X, shame on me.  Told myself I'd do it saturday.  Saturday I did legs and back, followed by ab ripper.  I don't have a pullup bar (boy is bringing it over sometime, he OBVIOUSLY doesn't need it...)
Yeah thats right. Meow

SO, everytime the P90x vid did pullups I just did 10 pushups.
With that said, I'm not very sore from that portion of the workout, except for my legs.  We did every type of lunge, squat, and wall sit imaginable.  The one that has me limping today (monday night, 2 days later, yikes) was the calf raises.

Then came ab ripper, the second time i've done it and it has NOT gotten an ounce easier....

So I was pooped after those two workouts, and told myself I'd do yoga SUNDAY.  Sunday rolls around, and I do next on the list:  Kenpo X.  Now, I've been doing Tae Bo tapes/dvds for YEARS i'm telling you.  I owe it all to my High School gym teacher, Mrs. Phillips aka Mrs. Spanton.  LOVE her. She popped in a tae bo tape once and I was in LOVE.  Basketball, volleyball, and softball practices couldnt touch the muscles in my butt that Mr. Bo did... hehehe... Second best class in gym: "falling asleep techniques!"  LOL, i can still remember her soothing voice and rainforest sound effects.  And the smell of the stinky mats we laid on...

So yeah, back on track: Kenpo X is a lot like tae bo, and for me, a little easier.  I'm used to doing all the kicks and punches with bands attached to my feet, and in Kenpo X there was none of that.  Still good workout though. No Yoga yet though :(

So on my rest day today I thought I'd take care of some bidness so I have all week to focus on workouts.  Went to Target, Walgreens and Mounds.  And wandered.  Just wandered.  I couldnt find anything I was looking for, damn you Target.  BUT the purchase that makes up for it all: kitties first catnip:

I'll leave you with this 'skinny' blast from the past (high school! look at the leopard belt! Abercrombie baby tee! God i was the shit):

Arms and shoulders and abs, oh my!

It's day 3 p90x and I had a guest appearance from the bf. He helped me with some of the moves, pushing me for more reps during the side tricep pushups. I did most of the arms with 5 and 8lb dumbells, needing probably 10 pounders for some of the moves. Thought I'd be super sore today but not so bad!!

Ab ripper did it's job and hopefully one day I can work myself up to more than 10 seconds of each move :/ these people are INSANE.

I can already feel my muscle memory kicking in. Departing from this spare tire won't be so hard after-all...

And Panda was the distraction this time. How nice that they can share and take turns.

88 Days to go!

Stab me.  PLEASE.

This is what was staring up at me throughout my WHOLE workout last night:

Last night's workout wasn't that bad.  It was Cardio-x and the first half of the 45 minutes was all yoga!?  But it was intense yoga.  Next time I'm going to do that part with my shoes off to make it easier to stay in the poses.

The second half of the workout was mostly kicking, punching, and jumping leg lifts. Definatley worked my lungs.

The sorest part of my body is the sides of my abdomen and my butt/back of my thighs.  I just realized that the harest workout, Kenpo X, falls on sundays for me, and monday is my relax/yoga day.  But since I started on a tuesday, that's just how the schedule fell into place.

Tonight is shoulders and arms, followed by ab ripper.  Ab ripper is tacked onto the end of a few workouts, but it's only 16 min long.  My uncle gave me a heads up that it's brutal.

I felt sick again nearing the end and had to lay down immediatley after stretching. Hopefully that goes away soon.  Was supposed to go to my friends house for a bonfire and smores after my workout :(  I should stop making plans for after these workouts until i'm able to function within an hour after them!  When I started to feel better I made some chicken salad, from scratch, which i'm about to eat in an hour for lunch.  I tasted it last night and it is AWESOME.

  Unrelated, I want these dresses:

The red one is around $100 online and the yellow is vintage -some designer, so impossible to get my hands on :(

Both pictures are from Vintage Vandalism's blog:  here  LOVE HER

And THEN I started P90x

I've heard a lot about P90x and was convinced that it worked, but up until yesterday I hadn't found the motivation to do it.  My bf brought it over and wham - i was ready and willing.  I even went to wally-world to pick up a set of 5 and 8 pound weights, and a yoga mat.  On the way to the store, I wasn't even discouraged when I realized my driver's side front tire was almost flat while waiting for a train to pass the intersection I was 25 cars away from.  Pat on back.

Looking at everything included in the p90x 'kit' was a little overwhelming, but being as anal as I am, I had researched many blogs and websites before taking my first look at the actual system.  I had found the worksheet printouts, which my bf also printed out (IN COLOR, he loves me), and started there.  There's multiple versions of P90x, such as Classic, Classic +, Lean, Lean +, X+Doubles, Double P90x, and while these titles look a little like something out of 8th grade math, they're actually different variations of workouts, in specific weekly schedules, each aiming at different goals for different bodytypes.  I'm doing the 'Lean' version, to slim down and tone up my muscles - if they're still willing to do such a thing.

SO, drumroll:  DAY 1

Yes I took before pictures and no i won't post them....Yet.  I'm 5'4" and curvy.  Not chubby curvy, but curvy.  I weigh anywhere between 145-148 depending on the time of month.  I like my body, but just want to feel more comfortable in my clothes.  My goal is to get back into a pair of Juicy jeans I wore 4 years ago.  I believe they're size 27.  I'll take a picture for my next blog :)  Maybe I'll even include a shot of the PILES of jeans that I don't fit in :( Oh yeah, and my bf's body is in immaculate condition. Keep in mind his metabolism is lightyears away from mine, and his body oozes muscles even if he misses a whole month of workouts.  People mistake him for the Hulk when he wears green... But now he works out almost daily.  He also plays football.  So imagine being around that every day...

Physical activities from my past: Tae bo (love it), running (i'll go about 3-4 miles a pop), volleyball, basketball, softball (yes it was YEARS ago but I played in H.S.)

The first workout on my P90x extravaganza was Core Syntergistics.  I was wrong to assume it would be all crunches from the floor.  The only time we were touching the floor with anything but our feet was when we were doing planks, various forms of planks, or 'banana' rolls. I hate bananas now.  You start on your back and roll to your side, withOUT using your hands or feet, and hold the position before rolling back.  My good friend Sarah introduced me to these a while back when I did some circuit training with her.  It's easier on carpet :/

I felt good througout the beginning of the workout, and actually laughed 'out loud' at some of the trainer's jokes.  He's random.  Glad he wasn't blandly repeating "focus on your core, breathe, don't give up, you can do it".  And extra bonus that they don't COUNT every SINGLE rep.  That bugs me.  Only gripe is that the clock countdown is shown on the screen.  My cats were a good enough distraction from that though, thankfully.  They're gonna get smooshed sometime soon, I can feel it...  Oh and the blonde chick is a showoff.  Annoying.

I do need to get a larger yoga mat/workout mat, I have wood floors and when doing the banana rolls I went onto the wood, slathering it with my sweat, and sliding into a more slanted 'roll'.  I used my 5lb dumbbells for the few excersizes that incorporated weights.  And apparently there are no worksheets for this workout, so I jotted down the reps that I did, and the weight, on a few of the moves.  I made my own worksheet in excel today so I'll be documenting that next time.  I'm turning into my Dad: I'm starting to use excel spreadsheets for everything! "Analytical analyzer".

Close to the end of last nights workout I got that nauseous feeling and started to sit down between moves.  Sweat was pouring.  After the workout was done i laid there, trying not to heave.  Bf called while I was regaining my composure, and I think i played it off well...

How I feel today:  Really good.  I'm not painfully sore, but I can feel where the workout targeted:  my sides, arms, butt, and tummy = CORE.  I also only gave about 65% during this workout because I didn't want to be worn out for tomorrow's next doozer:  Cardio.  I also at e a little more than usual today.  A couple weeks ago I started really cutting back on my carbs, losing about 4 lbs in the first 2 weeks.  I slipped up a few times but I think after getting back on that strict diet, and combining the P90x, that extra 15lbs will start melting off.  And then... HELLO SWIMSUIT MODEL PLAYBOY BUNNY MAXIM HOTTIE..

OH, and how ironic:  I show up to work today to find out that my uncle who also works with me, started P90x last night too!  He's doing the 'classic version' so we won't be on the same workout schedule.  He wants to be all bulky and buff.  But great, now I really gotta stay on track.  He ran a marathon a little while back.  He'd come into work at 8am talking about that morning's 5 mile run, and I'd be shoving bagels and donuts in my mouth.

That's all folks, I'll try to keep this updated at least every week :)

Quick Motives Post

I was so excited when I came across Delightfullytacky's blog, who I read on the regular, and saw her using MOTIVES! She made a cute video on how she applies it, check it out here. I might even do something like this in the furture... If you're interested in any of the products she uses, or if you want to know what colors will work for you, go to my website, or email me at

I've had nothing but positive feedback since using and selling this makeup since February 2010. My skin even feels a bit softer, gotta love minerals! All I know is that people keep coming back for more... And it's cheaper than MAC thank the lord.

I've added a pic of my sister after I did her makeup with all Motives products... Gawwww-jus.

My Blog Sucks

I have a lot of work to do, but since I FINALLY HAVE THE INTERNET I'll be able to keep connected to my favorite blogs (check out MERL and her amazing jewelry. You might even catch a glimpse of my dome in her many product pictures) , continue to be inspired, and spill some random thoughts. I'm positive that nobody reads this but I'm marking this as the beginning of a new venture doing something I love to do: makeup. I just started selling Motives makeup and am really excited for all the possibilities for my future. I love helping girls feel good, not like that sickos, but have always been the go-to person when someone wants to look and feel good about themselves. I would have a line to the back of the bus in high school with girls wanting their hair braided, wrapped, knotted and spiked for basketball, volleyball and softball. 4 years, every season. Yeah. And I can't wait for the carpel tunnel to set in! Thanks Mom :) And ever since then my talent has morphed to making faces look flawless. "Katie will you do my makeup!?"

I won't bore you anymore, I'll just post the link and hope (pray) someone wants to try the quality cosmetics. I know if they do, they will come back for more :) Click here for my Motives website.

GTG, my cat (panda) is shredding a bag of bread,
