Maxed out the Treadmill

On Monday I pounded the treadmill at the Y across the street from my condo 1. Because it's cold outside 2.  Donald Driver was performing on Dancing with the Stars and I had to watch/drool on the tv's there (I voted a total of 48 times for him between my phone and Allans later that night, love you DD!). It's the first time I've used my iSmoothRun app to track a run indoors.  It uses an 'accelerometer' and magic versus its GPS. According to my  'my coach' schedule (picture below), I was only supposed to run 4 miles easy that day. But running on a treadmill feels like 30% outdoor running effort, so really I was dragging.  The first pics are the treadmill stats (including warmup and cooldown).

I've NEVER maxed out the time on a treadmill!  Woo, little victories.  Sounds boring, but I felt really good and got to watch tv, so whatevs.

The next 2 pics are from the iSmoothRun app record of that same run. I stopped the app workout at 44 min, for some dumb reason. Miles four and five look a little off to me, but i was flying, so maybe I was really going that fast, I donno. That would be awesome, and I don't think I'm that awesome, yet.

Have I mentioned that I'm obsessed with workout statistics?  If I didn't have ways to track my workouts (runkeeper, ismoothrun) I don't think I'd be half as motivated to actually complete them.

Here's my half marathon training schedule courtesy of runnersworld.  D day is 5 days before my 28th birthday!  And here I go setting crazy goals:  I hope to run a FULL marathon before the big DIRTY THIRTY. Or maybe by my golden birthday: 5/31/2015

After my treadmill workout, I went home and posted on my facebook that I was looking for some new workout songs, and one of my friends recommended I download the Fit Radio app, and my life changed at that very moment.  LOL.
I've always loved the 5 o'clock workout mixes on the radio but never knew where I could download them. I get really tired of the same music in my itunes playlist and it feels like a second job to find the latest greatest workout music. And when I'm working out I hate the pause between songs. Fit Radio streams AWESOME music, and they mix one song into another, so there are never gaps of silence between songs like regular radio stations/playlists. So, like a good social media freak I posted my love for them on their facebook wall:

SCORE!  I'm geeked for that tank to arrive!  New workout gear GIVES ME LIFE.  When I emailed Cari my address I also suggested a Michael Jackson only radio station, she said she's working on it.  LOVE MJ.

Tuesday I went to "hot" yoga at a new local gym, Badger Fitness 24/7.  Nice place, but the rooms aren't at full 'hotness' yet.  They're working on getting them up to 105 degress, because they're only at 84ish right now.  And I prefer to sweat uncontrollably!
On Wednesday, Lyndsay (my coworker) and I went on a walk during lunch. Wind was gusty at 11mph, and temp was 55 degrees. So not the best walking weather, but at least the sun was out.

We came across this while walking past a corn field:

At first we thought it was some type of water pump, but taking a second look at the fancy fence, I decided it must be some type of graveyard.

So we took a closer look:

Yep, some type of animal final resting place. RIP nanimals.

We got honked at by a passing car when we were walking back to the road, I hope it wasn't the land owner. Here's our spooky graveyard walk stats:

That night, my Mom came over to meet with my coworkers friend who was looking for someone to adopt her Yorkie puppy, Zeus, because she can't bring him to her new condo.  My mom fell in love.  She's been looking for a new puppy for a year now and hasn't been able to take the plunge.  It was perfect timing, and Zeus was a great deal.  I think she paid $150 for him, and he is a purebread that usually goes for $600-$1000.  He will be 1 on April 15th.  I'll have to make him a doggy birthday cake.  Zeus took a big dump right on my floor after 15 minutes of getting there.  Hope it was just nervous jitters and not a habit!

Last night (thursday)s workout consisted of a 3.5 mile run, then Hot (warm) yoga.
Here's the beginning of my Fit Radio selection from that run: The first song CRACKS ME UP.  "I'm ridin around and I'm gettin it".  I need a better explanation, Sir 2 Chainz.  What are you gettin? .......... All I know is 'it's his, he spent it'. Well ok then...

Beast song of the run definatley had to be TI, "Beat Down Low".  Perfect tempo for my running pace.
Closing note:
I giggled at today's Living Social Deal in my email inbox:: "Lasik Surgery Package - 2 Locations".  Really!?  First of all, since when are surgeries advertised on a discount website, and second, how is surgery a 'social deal'?  haha.  You mean I can get my eyes sliced opened at EITHER LOCATION?  I wonder if I could get my left eye sliced at location A, then my right eye sliced at location 2?  Can I split this deal, sir?  NO?
I'm off to Chicago to see my bff's new house!  She's got a bun in the oven, so I'm going to photograph their 'announcement' photos.  Shhhhhhhh...

Weee! I'm a runnnnnner! +Shamrock Shuffle Deets

So I started running outside consistently January 2nd, 2012 (burr).  And doing hot yoga (ahhh).  I'll probably start blogging now too since almost ALL of my motivation comes from reading blogs.  I'll do another post (or twelve) on the specifics, but for now I'll start with this:

Jan: (30 Miles Total)

 Feb: (31.7 miles total)

March: (60.5 miles total)
BAM

I ran my first "race" on St Patty's Day.  It was the Shamrock Shuffle 10k
Shamrock shuffle route, downtown Madison, WI March 17th, 2012
And we had VERY unusual weather in March for Wisconsin, guess which day was one of the HOTTEST?  You got it, Shamrock Shuffle Day:

There was one tough hill in the beginning:

Booked it the last mile, the only split I'm proud of ha

Here's Monir and I after the run in front of the Capital!
We unknowingly bought the SAME nike shirt for the big day hehe

Guns after the race. "we're Ethnic" (inside joke)
Picture my Mom took after I crossed the finish line
sorry these are out of order, this is the start of the Shuffle, State Street
LOL
After the race we talked to my parents for a bit, guzzled the free water, ate our nanners, then went to Jamba Juice where Monir got her delicious on, then to American Apparel where we just stared at expensive clothing, then.... TO BRATS for a green beer

I'm going to hot yoga tonight at a new place on my side of town (ALL HOT YOGA IN MADISON IS ON THE WEST SIDE OR DOWNTOWN GRR).  Then I need to run my 4 mile tempo from yesterday.  I was a bit distracted by last night's new puppy visit... Details to follow in next blog post :)

Ass on the floor

I broke a damn nail.  Right middle finger.

Proud mother of a new mattress pad

Happy New Year!  I'm going back on my Protein Power diet lifestyle.  Check it.  I have many things to look (good for) forward to this year.  I'm going to Vegas for my friend's bach party in June, and July I'll be in my first ever real grown up wedding party.  Yes, my first time.  Never a bridesmaid never a bride.  HA!  Quality not quantity I guess!

Furballz update:  My cats are raw noodle crazy.  They'll RIP boxes of noodles open and gnaw on them for as long as I don't notice.  And the boyf decided he's gonna start feeding Panda raisins.  No reason.

Let's see, what else.  I got a new In Shape magazine in the mail today so I think I'll mosey on over to the YMCA tomorrow.

OH real exciting:  I'm currently downloading an app called 8mm that takes 'old time' movies on your iphone.  Sweet!  I'll upload one to my youtube soon... Speaking of iPhone I hate Apple.  My screen has shattered on my iPhone 4 and being the cheapskate that I am, I'm waiting until someone fixes it for me.  No luck so far.  I dropped my phone a total of 3 1/2 feet out of my coat pocket as I was bending over in the parking garage to pick up my dropped keys.  Splat.  Quality products ya got there Mr. Appledick.

I just had a flashback of a dream I had last night.  The statement that I typed above made me remember it "I'm waiting until someone fixes it for me".  Funny how things like that work - the statement had nothing to do with the dream but it triggered something that made me remember the dream.  And already I've forgotten that part of the dream I just remembered.  All I know is that it was a super significant part of the dream!  Oh laugh.

K I'm done for now.   Peace freaks.

Conan is God

I didn't know how much I missed Conan until he did the string-on-the-hips-dance.

I'm going to Michigan tomorrow for work.  My librarian friends roll deep.

It's mid sixties in November.

My cat is in heat.  I need to get her stuff fixed.

OH and I bought a kitty condo,

OH and I went to Wisconsin Dells for Lyndsay's baby shower.  Marley's was poppin, so poppin, that my boyfriend got his ass grabbed by a goofy faced tub-tub within 30 seconds of walking in the door.  I, of course was calm and collected about it.  Lyndsay (5 months pregnant) spider monkey'd the bitch. LOL.  Jk.  Kinda.

I was super popular with my fuck em bucky shirt (badgers won earlier in the night)
Shoutout to Jalicious Kate for the classy shirt

Here's the gang, minus one pansy that was too tired after drinking all day (usually me in that scenario)

Ta ta for now........ bishes.

If I could blog from the shower...

Where do I start.  I just got out of the shower and I always have a million things running through my head in there.  Well, I'll start off with what's been going on for the past two weeks.  It all started when someone died on Sept 1st who happened to be my best friend.  Dogs don't criticize, yell, cheat, steal (except for food), lie, judge, or make you cry.  My Gabby was sick for only a few days and as I sat with her for the last hour of her life I just hoped she knew how much my whole family loved her...

She was the sweetest girl and was truly a part of my family. If you're ever looking for a good, smart, sweet type of dog, Australian shepherds are the way to go!

Sorry to be such a downer!  Let's move on to fun happy thoughts...  Tomorrow I will be attending my coworker and close friend Lyndsay and Jon's ultrasound!  They'll be finding out what type of bun is in the oven?  French baugette?  Wheat?  Roll?  Chips?  Apple?  (Ok last two were a Panera joke)...baby panda?  Lyndsay has been wishin' and hopin' for a girl, but has a feeling it's a boy.  I have a feeling its a boy, and it will have a five o'clock shadow if he resembles his dad too much! She's due in February and I cannot wait!  I kind of feel pregnant myself since I see her everyday.  The first month or two I would eat everything she couldn't because she was a sick girl.... And now that she IS hungry.. well read on:

Funny story, cuz I always laugh with Lyndsay - I was driving her to Burger King today at lunch (ahem, I ate there too ok?) and while sitting at a red light a semi trailer transporting cows drove past and a cow MOOED at me right as it was passing my open window... Talk about buzz kill. Lyndsay is probably at home still laughing at this very moment.

So back to the past two weeks:  I have NOT worked out since September first!  The whole Gabby thing set it off of course, but I just haven't been able to 'press play' as Tony Horton says.  I switched over to doing "Insanity" workout vs P90X and saw faster results, so tonight I finally got my ars off the couch and bounced around for a while.  Shits hard.  But I feel good and less nauseous as usual...  My cats taunt me still by the way.  Walk past me, dangle from the tv, walk through my legs, lives in danger, lay down and roll around inches from my shoes.  They think they're funny.

So that's been my past two weeks.  I've also slowly removed my hands from the boyf's neck (not literally), and am hoping I'm easier to get along with :/ Stress can effect so many parts of life.  But he's cute so I need  him around:

a SMILE?!

As of tomorrow I will be eating healthier.  One, because I get paid tomorrow and can go grocery shopping, and two, because I actually enjoy drinking these:

INGREDIENTS FOR A GREEN MONSTER:
  • SPINACH (YES)
  • Banana
  • Milk
  • Frozen strawberries, raspberries, blueberries
  • Flax seeds
  • Ice cubes
I'm not kidding you, it is so good.   Don't knock it til you try it...
Even boyface liked it.

Scatterbrained last thoughts:

I've been thinking a lot lately about the idea of keeping up with my blog. I go back and forth because part of me sees it as documenting your life for strangers (and a few friends..) to stumble across, or check in on if they're bored lol.  I'm also not the most interesting writer, and I don't have nearly enough time to make it look pretty or add all the pictures I want. I almost wanted to delete my blog because I'd rather spend my life living it, not documenting it, and honestly there are 1,500 other things I should probably be doing. But then I remembered something I came across while going organizing one of my kitchen drawers last week.  It was a personal daily planner from 2009.  I hesitated to throw it away like all the other times I've tossed one of those books with scribbles, appointments, un-done tasks, and the occasional "florida trip!" or "no work today! Getting a tan!".  I get this sentimental feeling, and while Allan will say it's a hoarder tendency (love that show), I like coming across something or some time I forgot.  So maybe, when I'm 80 and computer screens are engraved into the backs of our eyelids I can browse through these days and smile, cry, remember, laugh, cringe, whatever.  I have a really bad memory, so that's my excuse for now :)

Ok this is funny, and ironic, because I am getting another computer screen in my CUBE FARM (sore subject) because I need two emails since I'm taking on customer service for another part of our company.  I was like, ever heard of another window?  Pretty sure you can have two emails on one computer but hey, job security for someone...  haha!

I'll leave you with this, because I'm fancy:

Itty Bitty Piggy

OH HAI!

Can we focus on how amazing this upcoming weekend is going to be?  Checking out a new bar dt called TC Cat on Thursday, then out on a friends boat Saturday then drinks downtown for my girl's Bachelorette party.

I  need my peacock braclet to come back into style :/  This is me in madison, on pepin place, where I grew up.  Well if you wanna think i've grown up.  I haven't really.

In sad P90x news, this is the start of my 4th week, and sadly I am re-doing my 3rd week.  Last week was just too busy to workout every night but I'm FOCUSED on completing this, no matter how long it takes!  So I did Kenpo X monday, and Core synergistics last night.  Gotta look good for the boat this weekend :)

 .....

October is quickly approaching, and unlike every other year, I'm not going to scramble last minute to create a fabulous costume. I'm gonna be... NICKI MINAJ. I'm pretty much her.  Not. I'm pretty good at her down-syndrome sounding raps though:

Isn't this wig PERFECT?  Its for a cleopatra costume.. So that'll be my back up costume lol:

Now all i need is a sexy outfit....

Until next time

Buyers Market

I am a selling MACHINE.  I just sold my 'old' iPhone 3GS yesterday, after picking up my new iPhone 4!  It takes great pictures and I'm a papparazzi so I had to have it.  I also have a few dresses I might post here juuust in case my luck goes on a roll.

I'm currently downloading the iMovie app for it too - so I can edit videos on the go.  Expect picture/video overload.  Sorry/you're welcome.

I also just figured out how to quickly transfer my iPhone pics to my computer versus emailing them.  So here's a few randoms from the last couple months:

I came home one night to find this in my parking garage:

Car parked more than halfway out of their stall?

Annnnd a note??

REALLY?

So I gather that this guy blames the condo management for HIM running into a concrete wall with his car because ONE light was out in this huge parking garage???  OMFGLOL

Might have to submit the above pictures to http://www.passiveaggressivenotes.com/

Some friends and I went to an outlet mall in Kenosha a few weeks ago, where they had a BCBG outlet!  I tried on 5-6 dresses, leaving with one plain black 'classic' dress.  Too often I find myself buying loud colorfull dresses and only wanting to wear them once.  Stay tuned to see the black dress, I'll be wearing it to a wedding on Sept 5th!  Somebody PLEASE tell me why I didn't purchase this green number???

EH.   Look at my SHORT legs!  Sad face.

This is Sasha's prime spot in the morning while I'm getting ready for work:

This is my God daughter Savi (Savannah)  She's hilarious, sweet, cute and a bullet in soccer.

PLEASE ignore the mess in this next picture.  Just focus on the whale flopping around center stage:
THIS IS ME!  Doing P90x last night, flavor of the day was Core synergistics and here I was doing "Superman, Banana".  Its apparently for abs, but I just feel like I'm a rolling pin flattening my yoga mat. Barf.

Speaking of mess:  I'm blogging from a new spot in the condo: The kitchen table.  Tip of the day, move your laptop from the couch to somewhere you can be productive.  Tonight I'm going to tackle a pile of papers and mail stacked almost as high as my WALL MOUNTED TV..  I suck at going through mail and do it maybe once a month.  The bf suggests I go 'paperless' by getting everything emailed to me but I sense a disaster if I do that.  I probably will though..

Then it's Cardio X for my workout.  Wish me luck!!
